Your Flight Plan To Success
GROUND SCHOOL
This is a must for all pilots and is required by the FAA. Here you learn all the technical info and start to build your understanding on all things aviation. Most flight schools require students to have this started or completed prior to taking flight lessons. The written exam has 60 questions and you need to score a 70% or higher to pass.
MEDICAL EXAM
Next, you’ll want to get your medical exam, which is a standard physical with an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). With the written and medical exam behind you, it’s time to have fun and fly!
FLIGHT TRAINING
It's time to get you up in the air. Now, we connect you with a local flight school to start your flight instruction.
CHECK RIDE
Once you’ve completed your ground school & flight training its time to take an oral and flight exam with a designated pilot examiner (DPE). This is called a Check Ride. Preparation for this final piece can take anywhere from 30 days to 6 months.
CERTIFIED PILOT
Congrats! You've completed your checklist on all of the above and you're now an official pilot!
FIRST FLIGHT
Enjoy the view! Now you can take up your family and friends!
Private Pilot Diary
In the first of its kind, AV8prep created a documentary series called “Private Pilot Diary.” This Series profiles a student from her first flight all the way to check ride in 26 videos. Learn on the ground what you’ll need to learn at your next lesson, included FREE with your AV8rep.com course.

Tower Talk
Most student pilots (and even some current pilots) struggle to talk on the radio. With former air traffic controller of 33 years "Aloha Bob", AV8 created a live interview setting to go over every potential radio call you could make as a pilot, mistakes you could make and what ATC wants you to say in particular situations. In 3 hours of content, over 100+ potential radio calls are discussed in detail!
